WGO World Digestive Health Day - 29 May 2021

Every 29th May, the World Gastroenterology Organisation (WGO), in collaboration with the WGO Foundation (WGOF), celebrates World Digestive Health Day (WDHD) and initiates a yearlong, worldwide, public health campaign through more than 110 WGO Member Societies which reach over 50,000 individuals worldwide, WGO Training Centers, Regional Affiliate Associations and other WGO global partners. Each year focuses upon a particular digestive disease and/or disorder in order to increase general public awareness of prevention, prevalence, diagnosis, management and treatment of the disease and/or disorder. The 2021 theme is Obesity; An Ongoing Pandemic.  Learn more here.

GESA AGW  9-11 September 2022 in Sydney

ANZGITA looks forward to participating again in the following industry events in 2022.  As always, we invite you to support the developing AsiaPacific gastroenterology community in its important work. Our thanks for their continued support go to the organisers of SIES, GENCA, and GESA for AGW.

Barbara Hines, our Marketing, Events & Fundraising Manager, volunteers her time to organise our attendance.  It is terrific to see our trainers catching up with each other and to talk face-to-face with those in the supplier world who support our work. Most importantly we get to talk with more people across the industry about our work.

Members Meeting - 19 April 2021, 6.00pm AEST

Chair, Prof Finlay Macrae, reported on 2021 activities to date and Pacific Programs Lead, Chris Hair, outlined our virtual training activities and plans.

Our guest speaker was Assoc Prof Collin Tukuitonga, Assoc Dean Pacific, Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences, The University of Auckland. He spoke about "The Status and Impact of Healthcare Development in the Pacific".
