Donating No-Longer-Needed Endoscopy Scopes, Equipment, Accessories, etc.

If you are aware of endoscopy scopes, equipment, accessories, consumables and the like used in endoscopy units which are no longer required, ANZGITA can make use of them. For equipment, we work with industry partners to refurbish and then re-use, or sell to obtain funds.  We can arrange pick-up. For accessories, consumables and the like, see further down the page under a separate heading.

No-Longer-Needed Endoscopy Equipment

A donation plan has been implemented that all of us can mention to hospitals, doctors and nurses which could be a steady source of donation income for ANZGITA.  We will arrange to collect and/or sell such equipment with the full cash proceeds coming to us.

ANZGITA would like all hospital gastroenterology departments to know that they may donate all no longer needed GI equipment to ANZGITA anytime.

Process: We will arrange collection by courier and store until sold. All equipment will need to be boxed up ready for courier. The hospital should call Di Jones on 0408 877 370 or email her to receive a delivery label and arrange collection.

Alternative to Objections - Some hospital charters state that they cannot sell old equipment so it must be stored or destroyed. Donating to a worthy humanitarian cause like ANZGITA is a third alternative that solves their time and storage problems at no cost to them. Since most hosptials are public there would be no tax break, but donating will be a great way to 'do good', support our work and build capacity for the future of our programs.

OLD EQUIPMENT - It's Already Working - Keep in mind and remind colleagues please that we can always make use of scopes that are no longer needed by hospitals and units, and we will arrange for collection. Equipment and accessories other than scopes will be collected and distributed separately. Some might be useful for a partner, other scopes we will sell for a cash donation.  To date we have received $8000 from the sale of donated scopes and a processor!

Accessories, Consumables and other items

Beyond endoscopes and related equipment, there may be accessories, consumables and other materials used in endoscopy units which could be available for donation. Please contact Di Jones using the above contact details. She will arrange for pick up or advise where they can be dropped off.
