RIPE - Responding in the Pacific Education Series 2022
Vaccination Focussed Sessions for Pacific Medical Professionals
ANZGITA ramped up our education programs via Zoom Webinars to impart valuable educational information to medical practitioners, students and allied health professionals in a large Pacific region with up to 80 attendees at each of the five webinars. Our Pacific programs leader, Assoc Prof Chris Hair, in association with Dr Meru Sheel and Dr Adam Jenney in Australia and Asst Prof Mai Ling Perman at Fiji National University initiated the Responding in the Pacific Education (RIPE) series of webinars. In 2021 they focussed on COVID Vaccine webinars featuring experts around the region to provide a forum for group discussion and questions with our guest speakers. The sessions through 2020 and 2021 covered COVID19 epidemiology, clinical responses and case management, radiology, risk communication, multiple sessions on COVID vaccines, long covid, crisis leadership, country responses & preparedness, and lessons from field. Feedback from colleagues and friends in the Pacific has been incredibly positive. Many have found the sessions enriching and a unique learning opportunity. Our 2022 Webinar programs are being designed now to be published in February.
Our purpose has been to provide a forum for group discussion and questions on COVID-19 Vaccination topics with our guest speakers. The program is being designed now with a plan to begin monthly sessions in February.
